The dog easily play with his family and also show affection but wary around strangers.
The Rottweiler
This breed of dog comes from a mastiff-type dog, the Romans brought with them to Germany for driving castles. Later on, the mastiffs bred with the local dogs. After about six centuries in South Germany, during an excavation the remaining of a red tiled villa was discovered and this town was renamed das Rote Wil because of the discovery. These dogs were used to drove cattle and for protection against thieves when the castles were sold for a long period of time. They also used them for pulling carts of meat. Whenever rails came the breed almost disappears but in the wake of 20th century breeders observed and save them. Over the years, they have been used in police work as well as working dog. In the late 1920s, they were brought to America and became very popular.
